Planning Your Shoot

Choose images for the way customers find your food.

A delivery menu may need consistent dish views, while a restaurant website may benefit from chef portraits, dining-room atmosphere and signature plates. Use this gallery to choose a direction, then share your menu, launch date and required formats.

The food photography service page explains shoot preparation and styling. Short plating videos and Reels can be quoted alongside stills through business content creation.

Common Questions

Food photography FAQs

Practical answers about shoot logistics, styling and licensing. Anything else? Send a message — replies within 24 hours.

Do you work on location or bring a studio?

Both. I can shoot in your kitchen or dining room with a compact lighting kit, or set up a small tabletop studio as space allows. Most restaurant shoots happen on-site to capture authentic plating and venue character.

Do you provide food styling?

Yes — I style dishes with the chef, using props and surfaces that match your brand. For larger campaigns I can source specialist food stylists. Most restaurants find that working alongside their chef and using authentic venue elements creates the best results.

What about lighting and reflections?

I use controlled, food-safe continuous lighting and flags to manage reflections on glass, sauces, glazes and shiny surfaces for a clean, consistent look across the whole menu set.

How many images do we receive?

The food packages start with approximately 20 edited images for a half-day or 40 for a full day. Image quantities are not dish counts: a dish may need several views. The menu, styling and final shot list determine the agreed set. See commercial pricing for current options.

Can you create short videos and Reels?

Yes — vertical clips, motion plates and short-form video alongside stills for Instagram, TikTok, delivery apps and ads. Same creative direction, consistent visual style across both stills and motion.

What about commercial usage rights?

Standard usage covers your own website and organic social channels in perpetuity. List printed menus, delivery apps, press distribution, paid advertising, packaging and third-party use in your brief so the required permissions and any extra cost are confirmed before booking.

Where do you cover?

I cover Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, with UK-wide projects by arrangement. Travel within 30 miles of Thetford is included; travel beyond this is quoted upfront.

What’s the turnaround?

Quick preview within 24-72 hours for time-sensitive needs (menu launches, social campaigns). Full edited set delivered within 5-7 days for standard turnaround. Faster delivery available for urgent launches.

How do we book?

Send your brief via the contact form — dishes, dates, any brand guidelines, intended use. Tailored quote within 24 hours.
