A Real Wedding Story

Relaxed, story-driven wedding films at The Oaksmere.

Looking for a wedding videographer at The Oaksmere near Diss? Kayleigh & Andy’s day shows the kind of relaxed, story-driven wedding films I create at this beautiful Suffolk venue — capturing the laughs, the little looks, and the late-night dance-floor mayhem.

As an award-winning Norfolk wedding photographer and videographer, I film and photograph weddings across Diss and the wider county with a documentary-cinematic style. The Oaksmere’s elegant gardens, period charm and atmospheric reception spaces make it one of the most film-friendly venues in the region.

Why Couples Book Me For The Oaksmere

Local knowledge, cinematic style, calm coverage.

Documentary-cinematic style

Real moments, clean audio, beautiful colour. The Oaksmere’s atmospheric interiors and lush grounds suit this documentary-cinematic approach particularly well — gentle direction when needed for portraits, then I step back to capture the day as it actually unfolds.

Licensed drone

Elegant estate reveals from above — weather and venue permitting. The Oaksmere’s gardens and surrounding Diss countryside frame beautifully from drone height. UK CAA licensed with full public liability insurance.

Discreet kit, clear direction

Small camera bodies, fast lenses, no obtrusive lighting setups. Clear direction only when it helps — no awkward posing, no 45-minute formal portrait sessions away from your guests. You’ll barely notice the filming happening.

Fast previews

Short preview clip within the week so you don’t wait ages to relive the magic. Full cinematic highlight film delivered within 8-12 weeks. Full ceremony and speeches files available on request.

Planning Your Wedding

Planning your own Oaksmere wedding videography.

Kayleigh and Andy’s wedding is a reference for the documentary approach, rather than a timetable every couple needs to follow. Share your ceremony, speeches and first-dance times, together with any portrait plans in the grounds, so the booked hours cover your priorities.

Discuss the indoor alternative and audio arrangements with your venue team before the day. Compare wedding film options and combined packages for the documentary, highlight and photography choices.

Common Questions

The Oaksmere wedding videographer FAQs

Practical answers about booking a wedding videographer at The Oaksmere. Anything else? Send a message — replies within 24 hours.

Do you know The Oaksmere well?

Yes — familiar with the grounds, the timings, the indoor/outdoor contingencies and the best spots for golden-hour portraits. I’ll guide when needed and stay discreet the rest of the time.

Knowing a venue means less time directing you on the day, more time capturing real moments, and fewer surprises when the weather changes or timings shift.

Can we add photography too?

Yes — many couples book a seamless photo + video package so everything matches in style and storytelling. One creative across both formats means consistent colour grading and a calmer wedding day than juggling two separate suppliers.

Do you include drone shots at The Oaksmere?

Drone footage is available according to your selected package or quote, where safe conditions, airspace and venue permissions allow. The aerial footage in a previous wedding does not guarantee the same flight on another date. We discuss feasibility beforehand and keep the main photography and film coverage focused on the day itself.

How do we book?

Send me your date and venue via the contact page. I’ll confirm availability within 24 hours, then we’ll discuss which package fits your day. Most Diss-area couples choose the combined photo + video option.

What’s your style for capturing speeches and first dance?

Discreet but thorough. Lectern microphone for clear speech audio, multiple camera angles, and proper composition rather than handheld chaos. For first dance, I let the moment unfold naturally rather than directing — the energy on the floor is what makes the footage work.

How long does the film take to deliver?

Your booking confirmation sets out the delivery schedule for the films you have chosen, including any preview. A documentary film, highlight edit and full ceremony or speeches recording are different deliverables. Compare the current packages and tell me which versions you want before booking.

What if it rains on our Oaksmere wedding?

Rain doesn’t stop great filming — some of the most atmospheric wedding films come from overcast or rainy days. The Oaksmere’s atmospheric interiors and covered porches work beautifully for rain-day portraits and storytelling. I always have a wet-weather plan.

Can our Oaksmere film include the speeches in full?

Yes, when that recording and edit are included in the package or agreed quote. Tell me how many speeches are planned, when they happen and whether amplification will be used. Full speeches are a separate deliverable from a short highlight film.
