Hockwold Hall Wedding Photographer & Videographer
This was a full day, captured in both photographs and film. At Hockwold Hall near Thetford, I covered Shannon & Nathan’s wedding from the quiet of the morning preparations all the way through to the first dance — confetti, speeches, the lot — the whole story told in a full gallery of images and a cinematic film.
Photographed & filmed at Hockwold Hall, Hockwold cum Wilton
Hockwold Hall is a Grade II listed Tudor manor and former royal residence at Station Road, Hockwold cum Wilton, near Thetford in Norfolk (IP26 4HZ), set in around 50 acres of private gardens and parkland on the Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire border. Character-filled interiors and sweeping ornamental grounds give a full day real range — soft indoor light for the morning, open green space and a confetti-lined path for the celebration outside.

Morning: the preparations
A full day starts before the dress goes on. The morning is where the story is set — the details laid out, the nerves and the laughter, the room slowly filling with the people who matter most to Shannon and Nathan. I work quietly, letting it happen, gathering the small moments that carry the rest of the day. Inside Hockwold Hall the prep spaces hold gentle natural light, which keeps those early photographs soft and true to colour rather than flat.
The ceremony & the confetti walk
Through the ceremony I work discreetly, so the vows unfold in Shannon and Nathan’s own words without a camera ever intruding on the moment. Then the doors open and the day spills outside — the confetti walk on the hero of this page is exactly the kind of moment I’m there for: colour in the air, both of them laughing, the whole crowd carrying them through. It photographs beautifully and it films beautifully, and having both means you never have to choose which version of that moment to keep.
Speeches: the emotional core
Speeches are often where a wedding lands hardest — in the photographs and on film. I catch the reactions around the table as much as the speaker: the pauses, the wobble in a father’s voice, the punchline that breaks the room. The faces listening are as much the story as the words themselves, and this is the part couples come back to again and again.
Into the evening: the first dance
The first dance closes the day’s arc. By then the light has gone warm and low, the room has softened, and the day’s tension has lifted into something joyful. I shoot it for feeling — movement, the faces around the edge of the floor, the release of the whole day landing in one moment. It’s the natural high note to end on.
Photography and film, from one supplier
Can I have both photography and video?
Yes. Shannon and Nathan’s day was covered as both — a full gallery of photographs and a cinematic film, delivered by one person with a single, consistent style. There’s no compromise between the two and no two suppliers working across each other: just one calm presence capturing the day in both stills and motion.
For couples who want their day in motion and on the wall, booking photo and video together is the best of both worlds — matched in tone, colour and feel, because the same eye shaped both.
A Norfolk photographer & videographer on home ground
Hockwold Hall is only minutes from my base in Thetford, so this is home turf — the Breckland countryside, the three-county border, the halls and barns I know inside out. From here my approach stays the same wherever the day is: calm, documentary-led, cinematic in the finish. If you’re planning a full day and want it captured in photography and film together, get in touch with your date and venue.
