Tipis and sailcloth can shift from bright outdoor light to warm, low interior light very quickly. I photograph those transitions naturally so the atmosphere stays intact rather than being flattened by heavy flash.

Festival venues are made for cinematic drone work — tipi peaks from above, festoon-lit grounds, surrounding meadows. 360-degree coverage adds immersive ceremony memories. Where venue and weather allow.

Plan your tipi wedding photography from ceremony to party.
Share a simple site plan showing the ceremony, tipi, food area and evening activities. Walking distances, access and the lighting between spaces affect how the day flows. Check wet-weather arrangements with the venue or tipi supplier, and plan a sheltered place for group photographs.

How do you handle the tricky canvas light inside a tipi?
Canvas-filtered light is one of my favourite things to shoot — warm, soft, sculptural, especially when the sun catches the canvas walls. The trickier part is the transition between bright outdoor light and softer interior light, which catches photographers without the right gear off-guard.
15+ years of tipi weddings means I shoot natively to the canvas-filtered look rather than killing it with flash. Modern full-frame gear handles the low light beautifully.
What if it rains on the day?
British weather is what it is — and tipis are built for it. The whole point of canvas wedding tipis is they create a beautiful sheltered space whatever the weather. Some of my favourite festival-wedding photos have been shot in light rain or atmospheric mist outside, with the tipi interior glowing warmly.
We always plan for both scenarios at the timeline stage — outdoor portraits if the weather plays nice, tipi-interior coverage if not. Either way, the day photographs beautifully.
Can you photograph a multi-day festival-style wedding?
Yes — this is one of the things festival-style weddings often involve. Welcome night, full wedding day, recovery brunch — or sometimes longer stretches at private estates. Multi-day coverage is offered as bespoke packages rather than standard tiers, and significantly better value than booking event-by-event.
Do you cover stretch tents, sailcloth, yurts and other festival structures too?
Yes — tipis, stretch tents, sailcloth tents, traditional marquees, yurts, and DIY festival setups are all in regular rotation. Each canvas style has its own light and feel, but the documentary-cinematic approach works across all of them.
Do you include drone and 360° for festival weddings?
Drone coverage depends on your selected package or agreed add-on, as well as suitable weather, airspace, site permissions and safe operating conditions. It is not automatically included with every photography or film booking. We discuss feasibility for your location before the day; 360-degree coverage is also confirmed separately in your quote. How do we plan photography for a wedding weekend?
List each event, location and the hours you want covered, including welcome drinks, the wedding and any next-day gathering. We agree the photography and film deliverables for each part, travel and any extra support. A multi-day celebration needs its own quote; a full-day wedding package does not automatically cover the whole weekend.
