A wedding film is a way to hear the day again as well as see it. I’m Paul Ovenden of Paul Mindy Photography, offering wedding videography in Newmarket and across the Suffolk–Cambridgeshire border, with natural coverage and careful attention to sound.
Based in Thetford, I work around your venue and timetable. You can book film alone or combine it with photography, choosing the hours and finished edits that suit your celebration.
Hotels, ceremony venues and countryside receptions
When preparations, ceremony and reception are all at one hotel, a well-planned film can follow the day without lengthy travel gaps. For separate locations around Newmarket, Exning or the surrounding villages, include addresses and transition times in your enquiry.
My Bedford Lodge filming guide discusses audio, low light and a relaxed approach to wedding coverage in Newmarket. The Newmarket venue guide is another starting point while you compare settings.
Ceremony words and speeches
Before filming, we discuss the ceremony layout, officiant’s rules and the best way to record your voices discreetly. Speeches need similar preparation: the location, order and any change of room affect the audio setup.
If a reading, family speech or performance matters to you, mention it in advance. The quote confirms which moments are recorded in full and which finished edits are included.
A documentary film or a short highlight?
A documentary edit gives the story more room to unfold. A highlight is a shorter selection designed for a quick watch and easy sharing. Complete ceremony and speech recordings are another choice, rather than something to assume from a package name.
Compare video packages and current prices. Preparations to just after first dance often takes around nine hours; a longer or shorter day needs a coverage plan of its own.
One plan for the coverage you need
If you want still photographs as well, visit Newmarket wedding photography and the combined packages. We agree what happens when two important moments occur at once and whether another shooter is needed.
For short 9:16 clips, explore Suffolk wedding content creation. Those clips have their own agreed quantities and delivery date. Drone footage is an option where permissions, airspace, weather and safe conditions allow.
Watch a regional wedding story
The Ravenwood Hall film near Bury St Edmunds shows preparations, ceremony, speeches and first dance from a real Suffolk wedding. Watch how the story and sound work together when deciding what you would like from your own film.
Send your date, venue and approximate timings for a personal availability check. Include your priorities, from morning preparations to the last speech you want recorded.
Your questions, answered.
Do you film weddings in Newmarket and nearby villages?
Yes. Paul Mindy Photography covers Newmarket and enquiries around Exning, Moulton, Kentford and the surrounding Suffolk–Cambridgeshire border area from a Thetford base.
Can we book videography without photography?
Yes. Video-only packages are available. Photography and film can also be combined, with the hours and finished deliverables confirmed in your quote.
Do you record complete ceremonies and speeches?
Complete recordings are available with the appropriate package and venue permissions. Discuss the ceremony, readings and speech schedule before booking so the recording plan is clear.
Is a highlight included with a documentary film?
Not automatically. They are different edits. The selected package and quote specify whether a highlight is included or available as an extra.
How do you plan a wedding across separate locations?
Share preparation, ceremony and reception addresses together. We allow for travel, parking and setup, and discuss additional coverage if important events happen simultaneously.
