Suffolk · Wedding videography

I’m Paul Ovenden of Paul Mindy Photography — an award-winning wedding videographer in Suffolk with 15+ years of wedding experience. I create cinematic documentary films that keep the day feeling natural, with professional audio for the moments you want to hear again. Read more about my approach as a Norfolk-based wedding videographer.

Coverage includes Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Woodbridge, Stowmarket and wedding venues across the Suffolk countryside and coast. See also wedding videography in Lowestoft.

Documentary & cinematic

Natural wedding films, not staged productions

Most of the day is filmed as it happens. I keep cameras and audio discreet, step in only when coordination genuinely helps, and build the finished film around the atmosphere, people and real moments rather than forcing the wedding around the video.

  • Documentary coverage — natural moments throughout the day
  • Professional audio — clear ceremony, vows and speeches where included
  • Cinematic editing — a polished film that still feels like your wedding
  • Drone options — where venue permission, airspace, weather and operating conditions allow
  • Photography available separately — use the combined package if you want one supplier for both
Local coverage

Wedding videography across Suffolk

Suffolk gives wedding films a wide visual range, from country estates and barns to coastal and town-centre celebrations. I plan coverage around the venue layout, ceremony rules and the parts of the day you most want preserved on film.

If you are comparing still photography as well, see the Suffolk wedding photographer page. This page remains focused on wedding videography.

Real films and local planning

Real Suffolk weddings, different stories

See a country-house celebration in the Ravenwood Hall wedding film near Bury St Edmunds, and explore Cherone and Scott’s Tudor Barn Ipswich wedding. Real films help you compare the way the day is recorded, including voices, guest reactions and the evening atmosphere.

For weddings split between a church, preparation address and reception, share all locations at enquiry. For an outdoor ceremony or coastal venue, we agree microphone placement, shelter and a weather alternative. The filming plan is specific to your timetable and venue permissions.

For shorter vertical clips alongside your film, explore Suffolk wedding content creation. Reels and behind-the-scenes clips have their own agreed deliverables and are not automatically part of every film package.

Before your wedding

What to plan before the wedding

Before the day I confirm the ceremony timing, speeches, important people, venue rules, audio considerations and any restrictions that could affect filming. That preparation lets me work quietly and keep the wedding moving naturally.

Choosing your edit

Documentary films, highlights and coverage hours

A longer documentary film, a short highlight and complete ceremony or speeches recordings are different edits. Compare the current video packages and prices, then confirm which deliverables matter to you. Around nine hours often covers preparations to just after the first dance, but your timetable determines the hours needed.

Common questions

Suffolk wedding videography FAQs

Can we book videography without photography?

Yes. Video-only coverage is available through the wedding videography packages.

Can you record the ceremony and speeches?

Yes. Full ceremony and speech recordings are available with the appropriate videography package.

Do you use professional audio?

Yes. I use dedicated audio equipment for key spoken parts of the day rather than relying only on the camera microphone.

Can we add drone footage?

Yes, where the venue, airspace, weather and operating conditions allow it.

Can we book photography too?

Yes. Combined photography and videography packages are available if you want both services together.

Can we combine a Suffolk wedding film with social content?

Yes. Vertical 9:16 clips can be quoted alongside wedding videography. We agree filming priorities, clip quantities and delivery dates, and discuss additional support where different parts of the day need simultaneous coverage.
