Photography tips for your wedding

Having photographed weddings across Norfolk, here are some things that make a real difference on the day at wedding venues across East Anglia:

  • Golden hour portraits — The hour before sunset is the best time for couple portraits. Wedding venues across East Anglia can offer beautiful natural backdrops that really come alive in that warm evening light. Plan for a 15-20 minute portrait session during this time.
  • Getting ready spaces — Good natural light in the bridal preparation room makes a huge difference to those early morning shots. Ask your venue coordinator about the best room for natural light.
  • Confetti shots — Work with your registrar to plan the confetti moment. A slow walk with biodegradable confetti gives much better results than a frantic shower.
  • Relaxed timeline — Build in buffer time between each part of the day. Rushed transitions show in photos — relaxed couples produce the best candid moments.

What to expect from Paul Mindy Photography

Paul’s approach at every venue is to blend in quietly and capture the day as it naturally unfolds. That means no posed group shots taking 45 minutes away from your guests, no awkward instructions, and no interruptions during your ceremony or speeches.

The result is a collection of images that genuinely tells the story of your day — the nervous excitement before the ceremony, the laughter during speeches, the dancing, the quiet moments between you and your guests that you might not even remember happening.

Combined photography and videography packages are available, including drone footage and 360° video, so you can relive every part of your wedding in full.

Do you photograph weddings in East Anglia?

Yes — Paul Mindy Photography covers weddings across Norfolk and all of East Anglia, including venues across East Anglia.

What is your photography style?

Documentary-cinematic. Real moments captured naturally as they happen, alongside relaxed couple portraits that feel genuine rather than posed. The goal is always images that reflect how your day actually felt.

Do you offer videography as well as photography?

Yes — combined photo and video packages are available, including drone footage for stunning aerial shots of the venue and grounds, and 360° video for an immersive record of your day.

How far in advance should I book?

Most couples book 12-18 months ahead, particularly for summer Saturdays. If you have a date in mind, it’s worth checking availability early.

What happens if it rains?

Rain doesn’t stop great photography — in fact some of the most beautiful and atmospheric wedding images come from overcast or rainy days. Paul always has a plan for wet weather and knows how to work with whatever conditions arise.

How are the photos delivered?

Via a private online gallery, typically within 6 weeks of your wedding. Full resolution downloads are included so you can print, share and keep your images forever.
