Jo & James’s Knight’s Hill Wedding Photography & Film

2nd October 2026 · South Wootton, near King’s Lynn · Photography & videography by Paul Mindy Photography

Colourful smoke flares and a golden sunset gave Jo and James’s wedding at Knight’s Hill near King’s Lynn two very different looks. I photographed and filmed their celebration on 2nd October 2026, creating a collection of still photographs alongside their wedding film.

The contrast is what makes this wedding such a lovely one to share: the energy of the flare photographs, followed by the warmth of their sunset portraits. Both belong in the story, and having photography and videography together gives Jo and James different ways to revisit it.

The venue: Knights Hill Hotel & Spa

Knights Hill Hotel & Spa, South Wootton, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 3HQ. Set on the outskirts of King’s Lynn in West Norfolk, the hotel offers the Knights Barn and a walled garden for wedding photographs. For directions and current venue information, visit the hotel’s official contact page.

Smoke flares at Knight’s Hill

The flares brought a burst of colour to the photographs. With Jo and James together on the lawn, the drifting smoke gave the pictures movement and a playful feel. These are the kinds of wedding portraits that leave room for personality, rather than asking everyone to stay perfectly still.

For photography, the changing shapes of the smoke make each frame different. For film, that movement is part of the appeal. It was a creative element that worked naturally with the combined photo and video coverage of their day.

Sunset wedding portraits near King’s Lynn

The sunset photographs brought a different mood. In the portrait at the top of this page, James dips Jo into a kiss while the low sun lights the edge of her hair and dress. The lawn, trees and warm sky keep the setting simple, leaving the focus on the two of them.

That warm light is a beautiful contrast to the colour of the flares. It also shows why it can be worth leaving a little flexibility in a wedding timeline for portraits later in the day. Sunset is never guaranteed, but when the light appears, a short portrait session can add something distinctive to the finished gallery.

Photography and videography for the same wedding story

I provided both photography and videography for Jo and James’s Knight’s Hill wedding. The photographs and film complement one another: a favourite portrait can become a print, while the film offers another way to return to the celebration.

My approach is to keep the couple at the centre of the work, combining natural moments with time for creative portraits. For Jo and James, the flares and sunset gave those portraits their own character without needing to turn the whole wedding into a photo shoot.
